I have a '96 Tahoe that is leaking power steering fluid. Any ideas before I go tearing it out?

just maybe dry everything you can touch with towels or rags to help identifty the precise leak location.

Mine was leaking from where the tank meets the pump. Replaced the pump and lines while I was in there problem solved.

Good advice! I removed the split loom covers from the pressure and return lines and had the daughter crank the wheel a few times and sure enough it was a oin prick in the high pressure line. $50 for a replacement line and new fluid. But it was a real pain to install the new line. Helps to have some cheap wrenches that you can cut the handles off on in order to get in to some tight spaces. Now off to the car wash to clean the power steering fluid off of everything.

i had to get a pressure line replaced... I bought the part but it looked like a son of a b to put in and i think it took a special socket so i took it in.
