Can any body give me the part number. I have a 07' Yukon..short. I had my truck in the body shop color matching all the black plastics and order the roof rack through the body shop. They needed a Vin# from a denali or escalade, so I got the vin from my friend dad's escalade and the body shop call gm. They sent the chrome rack from a escalade truck and he has the tahoe kind. So i got the vin# of my cousins denali and they sent the same rack. He said that they must have the same part number or its something that the dealer puts on. Can anyone give me the part number. The dealer ship wants $700, while thebpdy shop will let me have it for $321.

I have all the part numbers at work from when I ordered mine. I will post them Monday if you need them still. 700.00 is way too much I paid right around 3 from the dealer but I get wholesale prices.

Here's what you want (complete with end caps):
(1) Rail kit 25996380
(1) Rail kit 25996381
You also NEED:
(2) Nut 15916756 (these hold the center of each rail in place, and do NOT come with the kit above)
If you want black cross rails:
(2) Ski or bike rack 15838222
If you're considering the cross rails (which I did), and you don't get them at the same time that you install your roof rack, then you may wish to leave the end caps off of one end of the rack so that you can easily install the cross rails when they arrive. The end caps are a snap/pressure fit, and look like they wouldn't be fun to un-mount if you had to do so later.
Just confirm all of these parts with your local parts guy, and you're good to go.

Oops -- Didn't see Md's listing of the parts after his initial reply. Anyway, as my post shows, you DON'T need to buy the side rails and caps all separately. They're sold as a kit, as I've listed.
You can do it either way, really. So, now you or others have an option.
Good luck!

The dealership I went to said it would cost close to 500 dollars for just the rail kit, without the cross rails. Is this a rip off? Can anyone give me a link to buy them online for a cheaper price?

gmpartsdirect.com. Watch shipping, though -- that's how they "get" you.

How did you get the Chrome end caps on your roof rack,, is there a specialized part number for these?
I was going to use the rail kit part number posted by KMeloney but I believe it comes with black end caps and chrome side rail.
Your solid chrome rail looks waaaaay better.
Thanks for your help

I have looked everywhere for a forum enrty about this exact project. Can you tell me EXACTLY what to order and what kind of modification is required to transform my 2008 Chevy Tahoe's black plastic luggage side rails to the ones you have on yours? I intend on keeping the black cross rails. Thank you.

Ok, I see this was your first post.... But didn't you read the posts above with the EXACT part numbers?

Well, I see that there are different options. I have seen some rails that show a lot more painted surface . I haven't seen MDTahoe's specific pieces on a Tahoe or a Cadillac for that matter. That is why I am wondering if the picture is at an angle that makes it look like a full chrome side rail, or if it really is a full chrome look. If it is, I will go with his option versus the kit option. Thanks for the help.

Ah. No, it's just the way the picture was taken that makes it look all chrome (that, and the fact that his truck is a light color). There is no all-chrome option. Those end pieces are the same across the board. They come as unpainted, gray plastic. They need to be painted to match your truck.
I suppose you could have them "chromed" like the rest of the plastic chrome pieces on the truck, but I don't know who can do that.
The only optional pieces are the cross rails (the two pieces that span the width of the roof). Otherwise, you need all of the other pieces listed.

Exactly what I needed. Thanks for the advice.

Most likely, since it is the same exact rack.

Look the same, but my recollection is that they do NOT fit between body styles.
