Hello, I just purchased a 99 Tahoe 2wd Z56 Police package. I have built a few Chevys over the years and I like to drop my 2wd one. I also want this one to handle. It is already outfitted with the z56 suspension that uses 1 inch drop springs front and rear. I plan to ad DJM spindles and a set of hangers and shackles out back to level me out with a total of a 3-5 drop. I just purchased a GMC grill with projector lights led bumper lights and clear corners to update the work truck grill. I also just purchased a set of Boss 338s 20x8.5 fronts and 20x10 rears. I have a set of 275/45r20 tires I plan to use as the fronts but I was wondering how wide I could go in the rear. 295/45/20s seem popular but I was wondering if anyone has 305s on a lowered tahoe with no or minimal modifications. I have no problem rolling lips or modifying wheel tubs. Please let me know if anyone has 305s so I can go ahead and order them up. Thanks Matt

If you could check that would be great, what year is your tahoe and how much have you lowered it. Thanks Matt

ive done tons of those with spindles and rear kit on customers trucks.
you can fit 295 45 20 in rear on the 20x10s and that was with a 7 inch rear drop on a customers truck in front i put a 275 40 20 on a 4 inch drop. he wanted a tall fat tire in rear to fill up the wells.
a 315 35 20 will fit also but will need to trim the fenderlips with a bigger drop.

Hey man, I'll get better pics and measurements for ya today after work.
Here is a pic of the 305's. All I did was remove the helper leaf spring.

I'm looking at 20x8.5s.
How wide is a 275 40 20?

10.83" wide (275/25.4 is the mm to inch conversion)
28.66" tall (275/25.4 * 0.8 + 20 is the math for the height, 0.8 takes care of the 40 series sidewall, 20 is the wheel diameter)
