hi, have 07 denali XL 6.2 with new batt from may.... 43K miles.... no issues until few months ago, wife couldn't start the car at kid's school....
changed battery....doing ok until yesterday, after she came home, the car won't start again.... classic low battery symptoms.... starter will click once and nothing.... i charged the battery but it still won't crank.....
occasionally i've seen the volt meter dip a bit to 12V but usually was at about 14v or less.....
the truck was otherwise fine.....
i may need to check out charging system, etc. but is there some other things i can do before towing to the stealer?
maybe starter motor solenoid? the battery was recently changed.... alternator belt seems tight.....
i don't wanna get a sequoia like the wife wants now.... help !

Some 07 Tahoe, Yukons and Escalades had a battery drain TSB issue, came from the cars proramming.
Go to your GGM dealer and ttell them and they can probably solve that issue for you.

yeah they are just goin to replace the battery i have the same problem but it only happens if i leave sumtin on is your wife leaving the hazard lights on while the trucc isnt started? i have starting issues if i run into the store for 3 minutes and leave the hazard lights on but other then that she fine.. also is your checc engine light on?

well, that just is non-sense...how could leaving a light on for few minutes do that.... i changed the batt in may already after only 2yrs...
i called the dealer just now and he says that the TSB only was if the car is in the warranty time...i'm at 45K so they won't fix the TSB issue now...something to do with the remote fob receiver and batt draining with all the modules that are ON with the car when something 'else ' is triggered or something.... basically the serv people have no clear answer or idea...
they are gonna wanna change the starter now too probably since i have a long term warranty on it... i know this is a problem with this car and GM should have a better fix...
i have a 07 tundra and i left the inside dome lamp on all night and the truck still started fine......
will call other dealer service people and see if i can get a good resolution to this.... i don't want to buy a $55K sequoia because of this issue.... i like the 6.2 L motor and the room we have with this thing....

That can't be right Nfamous, I have gone in stores and left my underbody on the whole time i'm in there with no problems, even, when I installed the underbody the interior domes were on for like a total of 2 hours, when I attempted starting it turned over a bit more than normal but came on pretty quick.
I think that dealer is just BS'ing you, its a fixables TSB issue with the 07s and when fixed, there should be a sticker with a letter somewhere around the engine firewall, I have it but don't remember what letter it is.
Lol now you know why GM slashed that dealership!!!

jjrho and Nfamous you both need to get a full electrical system check (battery, starter and alternator).jjrho if that TSB is what is going on with your truck then you can pay the dealer to fix it it just will not be a warranty (free) repair. Nfamous you should be able to leave a lights or hazard lights on for HOURS with out a problem. If you do not get this taken care of now you are going to have big problems when you install that system.

well, took it to moreno valley gmc dealer today...they charged me $92 dollars to reprogram the car...my car was in the series that needed it....
they tell me that the new prgm shuts down some of the modules to save batt current draw...and that it shouldn't happen again now....
my volt meter would drop to <13v at times before but now, it's actually slightly above 14...which i didn't see before the programming....
i'm charging the batt tonight and the wife will take it to san diego for a week tomorrow so....see how it does.....but i'm putting in a jumper cable and a battery pack in the back....
I had NO idea there was a tsb on it.....THANKS for the info....
was about to go get a sequoia....now/hopefully we dont' have to...
thanks guys....will report/repost here re: this issue if something comes up again....

well, the car was on charger over night....won't start on sat morning so , couldn't use it this weekend....
i'm gonna have to bring it to local /redlands dealer and see if there's anything else going on....probably will put a new battery in it...and if they don't find anytthing to fix.... gonna trade it in for a 2010 sequoia.... sure gonna miss the exhuast sound and room... there is nothing to truly replace the sub/yukon in the market....
will repost as to what they find...

well,i left the car outside for a week and came back this sat...
put the key in and it hesitated a bit then started.... used it thru out today and it would kinna hesitate but start....now i'm really perplexed....
last week, after the reprogramming, it wouldn't start the next day....
the only thing is, it would say to check the rear tire pressure everytime i start the car...there is no reading then it would register 39 and 41 #s when it recycles.... which didn't happen ever before the reprorgramming....
so i can't be the battery.... it's probably charging...the batt voltage is >14 and occ dips to 13 V or less for some reason....
OH, the other thing is, the A/C keeps turning ON , even though i turn the A/C OFF always when i turn the car off.... old habit from before, but i believe in not having any extra load, when i start the car so, i always turn it OFF and now, it seems to be ON when i start the car.... ?!?!?
gonna drive it around this week with a cable and a batt back in the truck....

Check under the hood, right up front on the left hand side. You should have a little white tag marked with "07033" That's the recall number for the BCM battery rundown problem. IMO, they shouldn't have charged you. I had it done to mine, and it solved the problem......sort of.
Months later after the reflash, I started to experience random washer and wiper operation. Once again, they reflashed the BCM, and that cured the problem. Don't know what that was all about, but the firmware seemed to have been "contaminated" after the first reflash. IMO, what you're seeing on start isn't normal.
