Hey folks ,
I've got a 96 Tahoe with a dead A/C . So I've got my reman. Comp./Accumulator/O-Tube and PAG Oil .
Where does the oil go ,and how much ?
I'll be doing the Install then drive it to the Dealership and let them evacuate/recharge the system .
Thanks
Steve

try not to go to the dealer just to get a vacuum and recharge way over priced, find a local shop it will be way cheaper! and the oil goes in when they charge the freon, thro the ac machine u dont need to add it they will,

See what you mean .
Problem is , there is an extreme amount of unrelieable work done here . I can testify to that first hand . And no way to come back at them .
My problem is I can't install the new system here then drive 100 miles dry to get good service other than Dealerships (which wants 108.00) Or could I
install the parts , the clutch won't ingage so should be problem to get it to a reliable shop . I've never charged a system one !
I know the parts that I mentioned are no problem to install . But it's sounding like I may need a shop to install it all and do the recharge .
I have an old printing press motor that will pull down 28" or better, but I don't have a way to hook the pump to the system .
Any good books out there ? I've seen Haynes A/C Manuals for abot $24.00 .
Thanks for the help !
It's getting Hot and Humid fast down here . Gonna be another steamy summer.

speaking of AC, does any 4door guys have problems cooling it down in the middle of the day when its somewhat hot or is it just me. It takes 15 minutes to cool it off but never gets cool enough to be comfortable.
at night its almost too cold though. very weird.

Get a $10 recharge bottle/pressure checker at Schucks, and check your pressure. You probably just need a quick recharge. I'll post some pictures on where to connect the stuff. I just did this.
