Hope everyone is having a good week. I have a quick question about a center console part.

I purchased a console, with the rear radio controls removed. I currently don't have anything in it's place like pictured below.

Recently I saw the console pictured below on ebay, and it looks like it has some sort of insert in it. I think it's a nice fix and looks pretty clean. Does anyone have any info on this or a part number? If it helps at all, the listing said it was from an Avalanche (not sure how reliable that info is though). I've checked GMpartsdirect.com to no avail. Thanks in advance for the help!

Yesterday I purchased a gray center console for my '07 LS for $90, in perfect conditiion. The only problem is that it's missing the entire back panel. Anyone know the P/N for that is. I need the whole back section where the radio controls were removed from.

Also, is it difficult to wire up power to the console.

Any info is appreciated, thanks!

Found the parts I needed.

1 - Bezel - GM Part # 15134825
1 - Compartment - GM Part # 15134828

The dealership wanted $198 dollars. Gm Parts Direct had them for a little over half of that.

Sucks I can't find them cheaper. I only paid $90 for the entiire console, minus to rear bezel piece.

Two questions though.

1. Is it possible to add radio controls to the center console im putting in. Keep in mind I have a 2007 LS with a stock radio.

2. If not, Is the wiring already in place to hook up the 12v plugs in and on the back of the console.

Thanks!

Glad you found your parts. I'm not sure on the 2 questions you asked, but I'd be interested in the resposes. I'm not very savy in that area....I'm not savy in any area really. That's kinda why I'm looking to just find an insert to put in there to clean it up a bit.

Usually, or from what I've seen at least, GM does not leave wiring "ready" for vehicles that don't have a specific option. Most of the time you have to buy the wiring for it as well. Besides fog lights but those are a GM add-on if your vehicle doesn't come with, whereas radio controls on the center console don't have an add-on kit from GM.

And I don't think it would be easy to install the radio controls, as it also controls the rear AC, and you would have to have automatic AC to get that to even work right. Very big job from what I've read.

Nothing yet. If that seller would just give us a VIN we could get the part number. I wonder if maybe it was a custom thing?

Nothing yet. Still have my fingers crossed that someone can come up with a part number. Do ya'll think this is a part alot of people would want? I feel like I'm in the minority trying to upgrade my LS. If only Lil Cacazun Nick would post! He says he has the part in his...

Haha he shows up when he needs something, and then disappears right after. Although, I might still have him on my Myspace friends but I don't use that thing. I could check though!

FLTahoe, you are not alone. I also purchased on Ebay a center console and also the rear radio HVAC controls (which don't hook up to anything on a LS). I will have to resell that. I wish that one guy would post his part number for the compartment that fits where the radio hvac controls go. If i find any info on my search I'll let you know. My chevy dealer parts dept is no help...just rude.

Nick can make so many people so happy...maybe he gets in the x-mas spirit in the next month. If not I might put myself out of my misery and put my jump seat back in :893Chainsaw-Smilie-

After some research and looking on Ebay at the center consoles for sale which have the "tray" instead of the radio/AC controls, I located the part number. It is 15134828. GM PartsDirect.com lists the tray for $53.54 (Retails for $92). GMpartsgiant.com has it for $64.97. Very pricy for a Tray! I am going to check it out anyway. I ended up looking under a Silverado LT/LTZ parts catalog to find it. The back area is still identical to the Tahoe console. There is even a "Mat" that goes inside the Tray, but it is also pricey at around $30. Here is a link to gmpartsgiant.com that has an illustration. Hope the link works. Thanks!!

Thank you for helping me track this down. The part just came this morning and of course it needs to be installed from the inside (ie. you can't just slide the tray in from the outside). I didn't have time to really look at how the console was put together, but I'm hoping I don't have to take the whole thing out just to put this part in.

I also added a center console to an LS and was hoping to be able to use the radio controls.Oh well, atleast they can be taken out and the hole filled.

Thanks

To the 2 guys who added the console to the LS', what console did you get? I just bought an LS on a whim, and it's missing the jumpseat/console completely. I found one on gmpartsdirect that says it fits the tahoe/yukon w/o denali, w/o rear seat heater. I don't see a part number listed on the site, but I may just be missing it. Is that what I need, or is it something else all together?

Are you looking for a jumpseat or full console?

You can buy either on ebay. If you are buying the full console, I would get one without the rear controls, since this isn't an option on LS trims. And then buy the "tray" referenced in this thread to put in it's place.

Let me know if you have any other questions

I'd rather get a console, I just wasn't sure if it'd fit. I've seen a few on ebay but they all look different. Is there a specific one that, I guess, fits 'the best'?

You want to make sure your getting one that fits an 07+ Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban/Avalanche. There are quite a few, but they are pricey.

I would search '07 Tahoe Console' on ebay and you should get plenty of items. Install isn't too hard, something you can definitely do yourself.

Thanks, guys. Got the console from ebay. Should be here on Tuesday, if it stays on schedule from FedEx. I'm about to look up that storage cubby, now. I appreciate it.

Anyone know the part # for the screws to secure the tray into place?? Just installed a OE console in my '11 PPV, and I'm trying to plug the empty hole. Couldn't wait so I bit the bullet and paid $89 for the tray and went to install it yesterday when I discovered I didn't have necessary hardware.
