Does anyone no how to remove the navigation/DVD Saftey. Adding a destination, some XM functionality and DVD viewing does not work either when the car is moving or for the DVD player out of park.

Is there an aftermarket fix for this?

Yes the Lockpick Gen 6 does the job rather nicely. Google GM Lockpick

I've heard of ppl wiring a switch to the vehicle speed sensor input to the radio. Flip the switch and the nav thinks the vehicle is stopped. Only catch is that after about 2 mins the vehicle thinks there's a problem and it starts using GPS to get the information...........damn smart vehicle!!!! Def a cheaper alternative to the Lock-Pick.

Wow so stock navigation on a 07 tahoe won't let you add a destination while the vehicle is in motion?

Nope you have to be completely stopped or it will disable the options to add a destination and disable the keyboard even if you're in the middle of entering something in. Sucks!

anyone know for sure if this method works? I just ordered my factory NAV and plan on installing it next weekend (when it gets here.)

I also want a way around the lockout. Seems rather silly!

i personally did that mod. it didn't work well. go with the lock pick.

Just remember if you take the vehicle in for a repair there is a TSB that blames the lockpick for starting, misfiring, etc issues.
