No problems so far. I'm sure it depends on where you live and how they feel that day. Plus I'm sure it helps when I show them who I work for :Handshake:

Same, no problems yet. I was even at a light with a cop on the other side. He didn't pull me over. I made sure the lights were adjusted.

TX DPS will pull you over for anything around here. I've had HIDs on my truck, Cadillac, and a couple other cars for a few years and haven't once been pulled over for them, not even by our outrageously strict state troopers.

No problems for me either. I have had them on for about a year now. I think it has alot to do with the color you chose as well. I have 6000k ones, so they are just very white with very slight blue to them. I bet if you get something higher than that which will look alot bluer, than you might run into some problems with cops.

Aint that the truth. I've been pulled over for "following too closely" and "stopping with my rear tires on the line thats lined up the the stop sign." (I even saw him turn his camera on 2-3 miles before finding something to pull me over for)
haha too bad i got out of both of them.

thanks for the input guys...sounds like a 6000K would be pretty safe and give it the look i want.
Any recommendations besides DDMTUNING (just want to do my homework) on where to buy a set-up that is 1) reputable 2) easy to install and 3) a good price?

i heard hidgate was good on ebay too, but i ultimately like going with ddmtuning because they were outside of ebay and I can call them if I have a problem and have a lifetime warranty on ballasts and bulbs too. xenondepot, i think, is another vendor some use.

Hey Guys!
Ordered my HID's a few days ago. Decided on 8000w (the pure white was close but that bluish tint hooked me in the end).
I should be receiving them by tomorrow and I will be installing them this weekend.
Will post pics after :)

Got the new HID's installed!! Of course, I installed them during the day...then I sat outside waiting for it to get dark enough so I could fully see them! haha. Love them at night and super excited I got them in.

nice. Had a guy that drives a Durango see mine, and stopped by the hoiuse the other evening and asked what the blue headlights were. explained HID's and he said he was going to get soome. He had alreay went to local parts specialist, they told him he couldn't get them, because they are only for exclusive imports like BMW's.etc....I was like "wrong"..

sounds like you should call the place you got yours from, ask for a little "finders fee" and then turn him around to your place!
exclusive to imports....psh...if you see the guy again tell him he's better off. I wouldnt want to buy parts from anybody that misinformed.
While I was under the hood installing mine, I checked out the air intake cause I want to do that next. Doesnt look too difficult...as soon as the play money is saved thats next :)

I love my DDM HIDs but I think the left driver side bulb and/or ballast are subject to imminent failure. The light produced by the bulbs seems to flunctuate at a pretty much flicker?
Do any of you'll now why this could be happenning?

I would assume there is a problem with the Ballast or possibly power from your battery (but unless you are having other electrical problems in the car than i doubt it is the main battery).
Any time a lights (in general) are flickering its because of a lack of constant power.

Funny thing is they start fine, after about 15 minutes the light output on the passenger si starts to flunctutate, making me think its caused by bulb heat/failure!
Its not really a flicker as its not turning on/off, just flunctuating. I will purchase a second pair so I can replace them anytime it fails.
I also have a relay harness so I don;t think its the power, and I have never had a failed start, another sign that it may be the bulb!
