View Full Version : bb tune
First things first, big thank you to Justin @ Black Bear for getting me my tune asap. I just received my tune via mail and is a little concerned about the install. The security relearn is something that i can do......however the crank relearn is my concern. I dont want to install the tune because i dont have a competent shop to take my truck to and the dealer is not a option........those with a bb tune please advise now.......thanks

Only a scan tool can command the PCM to perform the Crankshaft Position System Variation Learning Procedure again. Crank relearn has no bearing on how it runs. Its only a diagnostic feature. Used for detecting misfires
with that being said how important is the crank relearn

We do recommend you get it done (shops with a Tech II can perform it for you), as it can cause your torque converter to lock and unlock randomly. It won't "hurt" anything, but it can be annoying,

I say you go to a NAPA Auto Center in your area in NY, they always have a Tech 2 and will do it for $50 or less.

I'm in FF County, CT and am a BlackBear tune dealer, if you do not find anyone closer and want to get it done I'm sure we can meet up somewhere in between.
