Okay, this started as a power window thread

http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/forum/showthread.php?p=23608#post23608

but now I have a new problem. The power door lock won't lock or unlock the drivers door. all other doors lock and unlock both with the button on the door and the key fob. Check out the link above too please. Could these two issues be related or does my luck just suck?

i had the same problem with my right rear door. it just stopped locking and unlocking with the key fob or the button on the door. i took it to the stealership and they had to replace the door actuator.

So how do I go about diagnosing whether or not it's the door actuator? Can I take the door apart and check with a volt meter or something?

Yeah, you should be able to do that.

Probe the connector or wires to the connector, hit the locks.
If you get voltage, you have a bad actuator.

It may be one or the other wire to ground, or between 2 wires.
I've never looked at one so I can't give you any specifics.

Odds are it is an actuator issue though.

Thanks a bunch. could you or someone else elaborate a little more? I've never checked one of these out. for instance, where is the actuator? You also say if I get voltage I have a bad actuator. Why is that, wouldn't a lack of voltage be the problem? Not trying to doubt you, just trying to learn as much as I can before I go tearing my door apart.
