Does the Yukon/Tahoe have this? I would assume so. I know in 2003 they discontinued them in the Silverado/Sierra trucks.

Anyways, does the 2001 Tahoe I just bought have it?

It should, thought they only did those on the 2000 (NBS) up to 2002, my '02 does and I changed it out, looked nasty!!

The weird thing about this thread is that I was about to post a thread about my cabin filter experience today... I pulled mine out and I swear it was the stock ones from '02. They were grey and black and had all kinds of debris on them. That was probably the best >$20 maintenance things I've done....

Yep!!

I've never heard of this. Does my '05 Denali have one? Where is it?

Yuk Nali; No. And it doesnt exist.

IIRC 02 was the last year for the cabin air filters.

people were complaining about not knowing about them. then getting mad when the dealership charged them a bundle to change them out.

Maybe that and the redesign of the dash for the 03-07 model years

why did they get rid of them????

The multi-zone hvac system introduced in 03 didn't allow enough space for a cabin filter.

i guess there is because guys are easily putting the filters back in there +03's. At least in the silverado/sierra trucks.

I encountered the same thing, I was shocked that I was even able to get air flow through there with them the way they were!!

Wait, so for us 02-Up guys how does our air get filtered?
And how do we clean our HVAC?
I'm happy this was posted, I had no clue and was gonna got to my Service Dept. asking for a Cabin Air filter (would have looked like an idiot)?

You would have looked like an idiot and been charged for it anyway.

Didn't say it couldn't be done. But according to GM's service manual, tight space constraints with the dual climate zone kept them from installing a filter, or they were just too lazy to design it that way; who knows.

Quick question, I just replaced mine yesterday and it's no big deal BUT.....does the air flow from driver side to pass side or vice-versa?

Facing the filter from the passenger cabin, airflow goes through the filter from right to left if I'm not mistaken.

Thanks for reminding me, just popped the new ones in and it smells 10x better. Definitely a good mod for the 03+ trucks.

Max, you say: " a good mod." I agree! I could really use - couldn't find any info on it though. Anyone out there done this for 03+ yet?
