Can you ride with second row bench seats fully tumbled

Just purchased a 2010 Tahoe LT 4WD z71. During my road trips with just my wife and I and two dogs, we would prefer to travel with the second row bench seats fully tumbled. We have taken the third row seats out of the vehicle, so no one will be in the third row. Just allows for easier/more storage, etc.

Anyone see any problems with this?

I do not... we used to ride in the 3rd row w/out a 2nd row for more room in my g/f's mom's suburban, when i was 14ish lol...

also ride w/the back seat in my wrangler flipped forward whenever we are 4-wheeling, so we can fit more tools...

dont see why not. i did it the other day to fit 45 cases of beer in the back. plus for you it would block the dogs from getting to the front seat :)

Yup, notta problem as far as I know. I always just thought it was what you had to do to get the most space, since those seats don't come out like the 3rd row does. I do it when I need to move a load of stuff from storage or vice versa.

Like everyone else said... no problems doing this. I have 2nd row bucket seats and have driven with them up to haul stuff to my kids b-day parties.

the only issue i can see is the seats don't have a lock that i know of, so the seat could slam back down if your heavy on the gas or get rear-ended. Hopefully the dogs arent under there......

bjc. Good point. We realized this and went last night and bought some light duty tow straps. We connected them on one end to hooks on the bottom/back of the seats which appear to be for child seat connection (not sure but they are metal hooks), and on the other end to the grab handles.

Not sure how well it will hold if we get the hell knocked out of us in a catastrophic accident (my guess is both of the connection points are pretty stout, so probably pretty well), but for normal acceleration or a "light" rear ender, should hold fine. In the event of an accident that may not keep the seats upright, that will probably be the least of our worries.

exactly what you described is how i transport my dog around....never had a problem with it...by the way, welcome to the forum
