My Tow Haul Button....

When I bought my truck, I learned that the previous owner had some kind of aftermarket tranny programmer or device of somesort. I know this because the wire that goes to the tow/haul button was cut and fed out through the hole in the shift where I assume it was plugged into some kind of device.

I'm assuming I need this to be reconnected before to tune this weekend in order to get the "performance mode" modification right?
