Hi ,

my Truck is Tahoe 2010 5.3

i install magnaflow exhaust 10 days ago ( amazing )

and every thing is ok

yesterday i install Volant CAI after that i run the car for test

its awesome sound but i feel like i had some problem with RPM when
the car on idle ,,, little up and down (not stable ) specially when i am stop after run the car.

Then ---- Today

after i go to round trip about 30 mile when i stop the car shut off

i restart the car and run again when i stop the car ,,,, the car shutoff again

and i feel like there is something not stable on my engine ( little vibrate ) and the RPM going down about 300rpm

So, What should i check ??

Thanks in advance
Bob

Folks with 09+ running Volants have had issues running rich. Some have stated that they were told to use an O-ring for the MAF, that was enclosed in the packaging but not addressed in the instructions. Did you install that?

I would definitely give them a call. We have had a lot of customers who have had issues with these intakes, it is a matter of the intake forcing the MAF to read wrong.

I have an 09 5.3L. After installing the Volant CAI, about a week later the check engine light came on. I never had any idling problems though. I unplugged the battery for an hour, although some said 20 min should do it. Reconnected started up and no CEL now. I ran a OBD2 code reader and there were no codes pending or present. When the CEL was lit up, Onstar said that the problem was with the "engine fuel control system" I am thinking that unplugging the battery helped reset the computer. It is likely that the computer is still learning from the MAF and maybe the light could go back on. Haven't got that far yet though.

i'm not sure either, all i know is that a 2009 should not fit a 2010, unless custom fitted by the installer, i'm unware of any exhaust being to market on 2010 unless custom made or r&d from the manufacturers. just my 2 cents

IMO the 2009 should fit 2010. I am not aware of any changes that would affect exhaust fittment. However, the CAI for 2009+ are definitely not compatible with previous years because the MAF housing is different.

My previous post was regarding mad's where he indicated the exhaust was not compatible because of the MAF. There is no direct correlation between the exhaust and MAF fitment wise.
