It is the one option I wish was on my 2009.
Has anyone added an electric brake controller to their Yukon?
I'm thinking of doing this b/c I tow a decent amount.

I'm curious if the GM factory brake controller can be installed on the 08. I know the dash display allows for displaying the controler settings. I would like this as well!

I was a lil pissed when my 07 2500 sub didn't have it built in (meanwhile my buddy's 07 2500 sierra did...) there's 4 wires under teh dash taped up together red blue white and black, you wire those to an aftermarket trailer brake controller, and then you get to connect the power onto the terminal under the hood (think its orange and all taped up). Did that the second night I had the truck home from the dealer.
Then I proceeded to throw a 10K trailer on it with about 100 miles on it. Luckily the new trucks (if you have the 7 pin plug there already) have seperate fuses for the trailer wiring, so if there's a short on your trailer it doesn't take out running lights on the truck or signals on the truck etc.
the previous body style had a connector which you had to buy teh extra half of, but the 07+ just have 4 wires taped up, 4 butt connectors and you're done though.

it came on my 09, it can not from what i've read be added to the 07 or 08 as it interacts w/the DIC... and its very cool. .. even lights up same colors as rest of dash, very well integrated!

I am planning on doing the brake controller soon. Is it that simple???? 4 wires under the dash to the controller and the Power lead under the hood. Where under the hood is the wire and where did you connect it to? Thanks.

The below link told me exactly what I had to do to my 2007 Yukon. It worked perfectly.

Just installed my Prodigy in my Denali 2 weeks ago. Took all of 45 minutes. Could probably do it again in 30 min or less. The longest part of the process was deciding where to mount the controller so I could easily reach it to work the trailer brakes if needed.
BTW- in most states it's illegal to tow a trailer that weighs more than 2,000 lbs without functioning trailer brakes.
