does anyone know what the socket is called that you plug 9005 bulbs into, and where to get some? i want to cut off the ones for my DRLs and replace it with that so i can put a 9005 bulb there and silicone it in place

Yea I saw some at Autozone cuz I was thinking of do the same thing!

Its quite easy. I did it on the fogs of my yukon.

You have to check what the wiring is rated for... and you will probably melt the lense. But good luck lol

thats why im gunna take off my clear corners and test it on my old set first

Thats one way... just have to keep in mind that these will be on all the time... and the heat over time it bad on it.

For an example the 98-02 Camaros have a problem with the DRL's melting the housings on a lot of clear corners... best fix was to bypass the DRL's.

Not sayin dont do it by any means... Best of luck with it man!

hm, what i really want them for is my current 8 high mod, what if i just make them not come on all the time and only for when i switch my brights on?

actually wont turning that light knob on my dashboard make them not come on and the orange ones to the outsides instead?

you dont need to. They fit just fine. But the silverado uses a different bulb. The 9005 is the exact same as a 9145(Stock silverado fog bulb) except for wattage. What he did wont work on a tahoe as the fog light housing is different. Also The silverados fog light housing is HUGE. So it can take the extra heat.
