haha that reminds me! I finally ended up doing the map lights....PITA. The bulbs I got from V-LEDs were to wide to fit in, took some drilling to make the holes bigger. I used like 3 different bulbs and all had the same problem.

Yeah, cluster is 194 for the gauges and all the indicator lights are T1.5s, don't recall how many there is.

They'll fit fine, you'll just have to get a bit wide enough, don't remember what size I used. It's the width that is the problem not how long they are. I would have soldered the lights in though....but I don't know how.

even if its not running, if the key is on (which it seems to be since all the other gauges work) the volt meter should read the battery volts. Well atleast mine do. I dont recall on the GMT 400s

I'll do a list or at least a partial list of all the interior and exterior bulbs and a quantity of everything tomorrow, on my phone right now so it would be a hassle. See if I can can take some nice pics this weekend also.

Depends what color you wanna go with. A white LED will make the teal pop and shows it's actual color the blue LED will make it a darker teal. I would go with the white LEDs if it were me.

The gear indicator should be a T1.5 but dont quote me. Take a picture of the back of the gauges if you can and I'll let you know.

Wow that looks more blue than teal. I think you can sand it down until you get them clear, that "white face" look. You'll be able to get all your blue LEDs and have them all match.

And here's the list, I also started a new thread for it.

High Bean: 9005 - 2
Fog Lights: H3 - 2
Parking Lights/Turn Signals: 1157 - 4
Corner Lights: 194 - 2
Third Brake Light: Assembly
Tail Light: 3157 - 2
Stop Light: 3157 - 2
Back up Light: 3157 - 2
License Plate: 194 - 2

Interior
Gauges: 194 - 6
Indicators(instrument panel): T1.5s - 16 total, but will vary depending on how many indicators you have operational.
HVAC Controls: T1.5 - 4
Ash Tray: 194 - 1
Glove Box: 194 - 1
Headlight Switch: NEO4 - 1
Door Lights: 194 - 4
Floor Courtesy Lights: 194 - 2
Driver Switches: NEO 4 & NEO 3 - 1 Each

Questions...where are the floor coutesy lights? When I got my only the door panel lights work.

I like to Keep my HAV orange too. To show Contrast in color (from hot to cold), plus when I hit the A/C button I'd like to keep the indicator that the A/C on is Orange. But I want the rest blue. Which one's do I replace to Make the HVAC light up Blue but keep the indicators orange/red?

Whew....take a breath in between questions.....!

I'll tackle one question for you.

Questions...where are the floor courtesy lights? When I got my only the door panel lights work.

If you don't know what your looking for, you could miss them. They are just under the bottom corner of each side of the dash. The mounting plate is almost visible without bending over. The bulbs don't actually go into any type of lense, rather just plug into the socket. I'll snap a pic if you still can't find um.

If you have ever opened up you gauges completely you'll see that every indicator is painted a different color...battery is red, turn signals are green and so on. They did this so they would not have to use different colored bulbs for each application and just use white bulbs for everything.

Noooooow, if you wanted to switch the color of something you would be able to. Like FF40 mentioned making the turn signals blue or red. You would have to take your gauges completely apart, remove the lens, needles...blah blah blah. Then you would pry the backing off, the backing is what all the numbers and so are printed on, you would have to turn it over and you will see that the turn signals are green, just sand them down until they are see through, now you can put in blue or red LEDs and you will now have blue or red turn signals.

Yeah, confusing I know. I'll see if I pry mine apart and take some pictures. Is not as complicated as it sounds.

i got some pics of mine if you want em, bcuz i know its a pain in the ass to just go out an do for no reason.. but what a waste. lol.. i want the blue flow in my hoe.. i have that blue pioneer headunit so it would all go nice together..

haks310
06-17-2009, 04:08 PM
Yeah like on your cluster you have that teal color, you can sand that down till you get it clear and get some blue LEDs and you would be set. You can throw blue LEDs in there but the teal would wash them out a bit

AtomicHoe094

T1.5 or NEO wedge bulbs are smaller.

But I am sure you can just go to Radioshack and pickup a couple of LEDs from there and they would work.

How do you replace the license plate bulbs?? do you have to remove the bumper??? Thinking of putting WLED-x-x LED bulb UV Blacklight bulb since my license plates are white im thinking it'll stand out. Any opinions on that or should i just use a white led instead??

haks310
06-01-2010, 06:21 PM
White.

Crawl your ass under there and check it out. Getting dirty is not a bad thing.

LoL and GM isn't dumb enough to make you remove the whole bumper to replace two light bulbs. Get under there behind the plate..you'll see the two sockets on each side...twist those out and you'll be able to get at the bulbs, simple plug and play.

re-did mine just now. i had a breakthrough while doing it lol. some of the bulbs werent working so i had to sacrifice some out of the doors. anyway i also threw in a 8-led light that is used for the dome but can be hardwired into a 194 bulb. before and after pics!

looks much better man! im so glad half of the interior bulbs are the same. i was missing a courtesy light on drivers side and i used one of the corner light bulbs since i switched to clear corners also put the other in the 4wd indicator for now. will do leds eventually once i get exterior the way i want. would like a blue coated 194 bulb look good instead of a led for now?

drowndindreams
06-05-2010, 04:19 PM
eh thats more like a bluish white sort of bulb, i remember i bought two of those for my dome lights thinking they would be the same as leds but theyre nowhere near as bright

the big blue bus
06-05-2010, 11:41 PM
yea i got them to try em and they arent that bright well i cant ge the bulb on the passenger side out but got the drivers side in. just seeing that lil blue color makes me want to replace all of the lights in the doors too and roof lights now. i want to do the doors with white leds along with the other interior lights besides guages and ac controls. which leds to yall recomend for the doors and everything

Devious_Tahoe96

would these bulbs work for under dash doors and 4wd? http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=%2Fspecs%2FWLED-x.htm

i want to order them soon and need to know. dont know if i need to buy the wled5s to get a better look. wil the ones posted above look good in doors? they wil only cost me like 12 for all 8 or should i go for the better ones? if i should do better should i get cool white or natural? and would it look good with blue in doors and underdash too? or should i just stick em under dash and do white everywhere else besides in dash?

Ok so im in the hoe right now with my laptop swapping out the lights from the cluster, but how are they supposed to illuminate if the wire from the light doesn't touch the light holder?? i thought it was a plug and play???

Ok well here are the pic's of my dash and hvac. Although i thought the middle bulbs in the hvac would show a lil brighter since the outter ones do, im still happy how it came out :imo:
