how does this affect the odom reading as far as how many miles do you start over or wat....

no it stays the same...your car still has the same amount of miles on it...

it's illegal to change odometer readings from actual. if mileage is unknown title will say so and may even be a salvage title.

just keep receipts, so if you ever sale or trade it in, you have evidence of the new engine.
