What do you have? I have 35% on the front 2 windows, and factory on the rest. I'm thinking about going 20% up front and making the rear side windows darker. I don't want to make the rear window any darker, because I want to be able to see at night. Any suggestions?

Limo all the way around expect my driver and passenger windows. I love having blacked out windows. :)

I put a layer of 5% on the two fronts doors and doubled up the 5% around the rest of the truck over the factory tint. I don't like people looking into my truck and seeing what I have. I have a b/u camera that i use for reversing at night.
What you have in mind would look good; 20% down the sides front to rear. You can slap a layer of 35% over the rear window to match the rest a little better and still keep it light enough to see through at night.

Here's what the double 5% looks like on my truck:

I just wasn't sure what to use over the factory tint. I was thinking 20% just didn't know how dark it would be over top the factory stuff.

i have 5% over factory in the back, but it's not dark enough.

I think I'm going to tint match the front windows with the privacy glass, and eventually I'll go over all of the privacy glass to make it darker. I don't need it super duper dark, but a little privacy and added security would be awfully nice...not to mention the heat reduction benefits in the summer.

from the outside, it's gonna match from 10 ft away or so. it's around 18% on the factory glass, but it is made in the window, so it will not match.

I've seen some that look pretty damn close over on TF, so we will see. Doesn't need to be spot-on, but close and I'll be happy.

from the outside it will be. it'll still make a big difference

I went with dark on the rears and Medium on the front. Dunno what the percentages equate to because the shop didn't have them listed. Just listed by Limo, Dark, Medium and Light.

looks like 5% in the back and 20% in the truck.

I put 20% on the fronts to match the rear but gonna lay either 20% or 35% over the factory in the rear! Here's mine as it sits now! http://i688.photobucket.com/albums/vv247/Darkman98/MVC-356F.jpg

I did 20% on front 2... and 5% on all the rest... LOVE how dark it is inside... especially for the kids. :)

Max=BOOST? that's a mean truck. Putting 35% on the "shield" is way too daring for me. I'd maybe do like 80%-90%.

Max

nah you'd be surprised how easy it is to see, I think adding the 35% front will help nightime visibility since my eyes have a hard time adjusting from the 5% to clear windshield at night.

I have 20% on my front two doors to match with the stock rear and it's a very close match. (looks perfect to me)

I love my Limo all the way around and 30% in the windshield, and for the windshield i feel that its pointless to have 35% or lighter in it because i had a friend who got 50% to be safe and you cant even tell its on there, pointless

Any tint on the windshield is illegal in Indiana that's why I was only thinking about having 80%. Just to knock the light down some, and not get a ticket.

Timmy
05-05-2009, 03:05 AM
here too. 80 won't do anything.

yea for the same price of putting some 80% to 50% on the windshield you might as well just go buy some sunglasses from the dollar store and save yourself alot of money, the least someone should ever go is like a 40% to notice a difference, had 20% on my last truck and i miss it, have 30% now and its mediocre.

I had 15% on my RX-8s windshield and 5 everywhere else. It looked sick, but was hard to see out at night. I'd like to do 35 on my tahoes windshield.

i have 15% on the front two to match the privacy glass. i LOVE it, can barely see in at all during the day, and not at all at night or in the rain. but i can still see out good so it isn't dangerous. exactly what i wanted. don't know how i lived without it.
