Is there a place that you acn buy just teh intake tube in dofferent lengths and bends? Like in order to make your own CAI? Or maybe modify one I already have to fit?

Or maybe someone has made there own some other way?

I've seen pictures on here of people who made their own, however myself, I flipped the top cover of the manifold upside down, it seals completely and opens up the entire air filter, functioning basically like an air charger (also removed the air resonator box), not as effective as an actual cold air intake, but you can defiantly hear it suck the air in easier, and can feel a little more with the 'seat of your pants' test.

Do you have any pictures? I'm not quite understanding what you did....

I think Specter offers a setup with all the different bends and tubing to fab up your own. You basically fit all the parts together that you need, mark them, and you can send it back to Specter for cutting and welding or do it yourself.:)

Miami-Yukon... Davyboy has a TBI setup. You've got a vortec. The intakes are laid out quite differently. Davyboy has the big ring filter sitting on top of the carb, whereas your filter is at the filter and is shaped more like a cone/cylinder.

That said you can easily make your on intake tubing out of PVC piping, some Fernco fittings, and a pipe hanger. It'll remove the corrugated section of the factory ducting and provide a more direct air path to the current "bonnet." Many have also removed the intake silencer (the box that says "Vortec") and capped that opening with a rubber cap.
