    AFM Disable Options

Ummmm....... keep it in 3rd gear? But in all seriousness, I'd look on FB marketplace or similar for someone with HP tuners that can just toggle the AFM switch OFF for you. It's 2 credits $(100), plus whatever for their time and you are back in business. I just got HP TUNERS for my 2008 and...

New 2024 Yukon - long term rust prevention and rubber conditioning

Makes sense in my book. Slightly tacky is a good sign for longevity without cracking, etc

New 2024 Yukon - long term rust prevention and rubber conditioning

I'd be curuis what they use. Maybe it's similar to the old zeebart formula that sticks around forever and never really dries out.

    Mystery Noise

One more thing to add. Be sure to clean the piston and caliper pad face to remove any corrosion with a smooth file - want it uniform. Wipe clean. Then apply a thin layer of high temp silicone to the pad shims when reinstalling. Based on what has been shared, I think with some new rotors and...

    Mystery Noise

I'd check wheel bearings to make sure they don't have play djarnis causing the rotor to move and drag on the pads when moving. Does it go away with light pressure or heavy brake pressure? Front or rear? Can you pinpoint it near a building or cement wall?

    Epic Mexico Eclipse Road Trip

EPIC!! That sounds freaking awesome. How was the boarder crossing, insurance, etc traveling how you did?

    Burken Boys’ and Girl’s Journey

Almost ditto.....just a few months off. She was just 8 yesterday when we put the wheels on the 110cc Chinese knock-off pink ATV I bought her for her birthday as it sat on the curb in a cheap metal crate. For fox sake, time flies. Or is it fun flies when you're doing time.......one of the two...

    Battery Drain

Good deal! Thanks for sharing the finding. Also, just do as @Fless stated ans just put a whole new piece in and be done with it.

    8 Speed Transmission

The only way I can think to do it is to pull a return line from the cooler and put into a bucket. Then, pop the fill plug off the trans (passenger side behind heat shield - remove said shield) and put a long section of clear tube up into the engine compartment so you can put a funnel into it to...

2009 hybrid tahoe w/ 140k miles....... or 2014 tahoe lt w/ 170k miles... which would you take?

I'd go for the 14 tahoe myself if I had only those 2 to choose from. I'd rather take my chances on an AFM problem or a potential 6L80 replacement. Both are bigger repairs, but very common by now. Nothing on the Hybrid is common. It's overly complex, not worth any of the potential MPG savings...

    High pitched scraping while driving

When you changed the brakes, did you use high temp silicone on the shim plates? Did you file the seating areas of the caliper, rotor, etc to make sure they are free of corrosion or buildup that would cause them to side cockeyed?

How do I get my Tahoe to ride/handle like my 3500HD?

That's a tall order. You want a lighter vehicle with coil over suspension to ride like a much heavier vehicle with torsion bars. I don't think there is any outcome that will give the firm feel you want without making it feel like a lumber wagon. What size wheels and tires are you running...

    High pitched scraping while driving

Being that it's AWD, have you tried to jack it up off the ground and have someone let it idle in gear while you walk and listen? My suspects would be brake related, splash shields, maybe the rear parking brake shoes need a cleaning and adjustment. Just ideas

Need opinions on keeping or moving on.

I agree with @OR VietVet I was going to say the same thing. Let it go, keep the good memories, and find a comparable replacement with way less miles and repeat the process.

    Help with possible purchace

Have them give you a carfax, as well as any service records tied to the VIN. That will hopefully give you some insight into its life before you. A good mechanic should be able to point out any visual issues, as well as driveability issues. At 100k I would suggest these 1. Trans service and...

Which brand of struts do you recommend for 2015 Yukon with Magneride?

I concur with @Big Mama If you can fund a loaded strut option, or a take off, they only take about 30 min per side to replace. Can do it in your garage

Which brand of struts do you recommend for 2015 Yukon with Magneride?

OEM all the way. Either new, or lightly used from an auto recycler.

    Gremlins in Infotainment System

You get the joy of a new radio and climate control assembly. Same thing happened on my 2017 yukon. Luckily my wife got video of it, I called the dealership and told them I'd be dropping it off asap - warranty ran out in less than 500 miles and they used the video as proof of need. Got it...

    100,000 mile club

I replaced my OEM brakes on my 2017 at 125k. They still had some life left, but the front rotors were starting to pulse when hot. Most of my GM vehicles over the years have given me well over 100k on the first set of brakes. Driving style and type of commute definitely plays into the life...

2008 GMC Yukon Denali - Stay away?

Well, you also need to consider that it's a personal sale, no financing options. When the American Dream is to live paycheck to paycheck, coming up with $9500 cash is a lot harder. Low ball him with cash in hand with the narrative I just explained. I don't think it's going anywhere fast. I've...

2008 GMC Yukon Denali - Stay away?

I can attest to the durability of these trucks. I've had 4 of the 07-09 with the 6.2L. I rarely run premium and have put lots of miles on them. I will say they like premium better for sure - you can just hear it in the way it runs, especially lower rpm ranges. A 20% blend of E85 also works...

5.3 Guys, opinion on oil change intervals

DITTO!! It's worked well for many hundreds of thousands of driven miles from Impala 3.8L to 5.3, 6.0, and 6.2L engines in trucks and suvs. Plus, it's much easier to rhyme on the fives than have to over math it on those weird 3 or 4 numbers. LOL
