    AFM Disable Options

you basically need someone with hp tuners. 2 credits and 5 mins time. last time I was poking around on Facebook marketplace there was a guy in Austin offering to do it. you might check there. 5$ fix... buy a screen and put it back in. curious question, if it cost you an engine at 200k...

    Stripped head bolt hole

I have read to make sure you blow the hole out, if not it can strip the bolt. but I don't know. if it was my daily, I'd run a heli coil in it and call it a day.

Anyone “upgraded” from the tensioner style AC compressor to the stretchy belt?

you might research the compressor style itself. they might have went from something that cycles with a low side switch to something like a v7 variable displacement. I find they do cool better at idle speeds but few different switches and wiring to change them. not sure if the auto hvac would...

    Blend Door Replacement

bit of a Grey area I guess, if he did something in it that showed the company in a bad light, I could see it. but if they just didn't want people to know how to do it themselves, because it might take away work. that's a shame. guy I work with is huge into tik tok, oddly he's old than me lol...

    Coolant leak Issues

how many miles are on this thing? do you do any of your own mechanic work? cause it's probably about time for a full cooling system rebuild. there's some plastic T's up at the firewall that usually fail first, but looks like yours is something else. but no matter. the T's will go soon anyways...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

junkyard guys are a different breed. I believe it started over on the yellow bullet board. they would find old 80 smog motor 350s in the junk yard, the more miles the better, seasoned they'd call it. they did put a big turbo cam in it. run it on good gas, hang a big turbo in something like a g...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

it is amazing how ls main and rod bearings are almost always mint, cam bearings, complete junk. I tell you, years ago I found a picture of some cam bearings from a zero mile crate motor, guy was swapping in a cam before putting it on the hot rod and the bearings had copper showing. the drag...

Anyone “upgraded” from the tensioner style AC compressor to the stretchy belt?

those would work well and cheap. might be worth a try?

Anyone “upgraded” from the tensioner style AC compressor to the stretchy belt?

you know, you're right the compressor does bolt straight to the block on mine. I didn't realize the trucks had a extra bracket (my yukon doesn't have a belt driven ac) I just remembered loosening it up and trying to move it around thinking it might have some slop in the mounting holes, but nope...

Anyone “upgraded” from the tensioner style AC compressor to the stretchy belt?

it doesn't seem to matter with ac off or on.

Anyone “upgraded” from the tensioner style AC compressor to the stretchy belt?

what I mainly saw when researching was aluminum blocks but the cars like corvette, gto/holdens and camaros are also more likely to be driven hard. I got to where I could make it run it off quickly on a test drive by stabbing the gas in 2nd gear, run up to redline and let off the throttle without...

Anyone “upgraded” from the tensioner style AC compressor to the stretchy belt?

you can buy the belts different size stretchy belts to. so I don't think you'd need to change the compressor? I fought thru the belts on my c6. proper annoying. Google around and holy crap, it's a ls thing. there's a 100 page thread on a gto board. once it starts it doesn't stop on its own...

    Power seat motor

    Blend Door Replacement

the dealership got youtube to remove the how to videos? wow that's just awful. ugh. unless maybe the employees recorded it on the clock in the dealership shop but even that's a stretch. it's flat rate. it's not like going slower to record something hurts anyone but the tech. shady

What the heck is this thing?

it the sensor is the same as the one in a c6 dash. it's pretty easy to take the sensor apart to clean it. or short cut, stick a tooth pick in it to block the fan blade from spinning(key off) and hit it with compressed air from a key board cleaner can. the tooth pick is to keep the fan from over...

    Broken Motor Mounts

oh yeah. I still need to order and do the passengers side. but other than no longer having the click/clunk when starting. I haven't noticed any negatives to the hummer mount on a hybrid. since they don't idle when stopped very often, harder seems to be just fine. I gotta get that 2nd one...

    IAT Always Reads 32°

that's a odd one.. I have seen key on iat saved and used as part of the startup routine to avoid heat soak rich cranking. but nothing you'd need to know or see as a monitor. weird mostly useless pid to be able to display. most consumer grade stuff avoids options like. its ridiculous getting...

    Building A 1,000HP Capable 6R80/6L80 Trans

honestly if you live up north in the salt world, it's safer inside the tranny. of the gm modules that are first to go, it's always the ones under the truck, like the rear back by the spare tire, and on mine the brake stuff under the driver seat area. I know it seems crazy. but you never really...

    Broken Motor Mounts

so I got bored and took my old mount apart, I'm guessing this isn't a oem mount. so it was probably done before. I definitely don't see any way these have fluid in them?

    12v outlets always on

Yes, this works and is the easiest way, no wire cutting, no relays to buy and if you want to go back just remove 2 fuse taps in the under hood box. it's very commonly done on the corvette boards, but somehow not used at all on other cars. I did it one day out of boredom and slight annoyance...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

there's a k2 clear coat made just for lights. 2k is clear with hardener, but instead of mixing it and then needing a paint gun. it's in a spray can, just break the bladder inside, they mix and you get proper 2 part clear from a simple spray paint can. tape around the light, wet sand with...

#1 and #5 injectors not firing

this feels like the thing to do, especially since you've tried different ecm's. back probe the switched ground from the ecm to injector at the ecm plug itself. something like this to not damage the wires, pins or seals. I think you'll find you have it there but not at the injectors...
